Thank you card from CRY
Over the weekend of 26th - 28th April hundreds of enthusiastic visitors came to Bilsborrow to see the 18th biennial exhibition of all things patchwork and quilting made by members of our Group. The exhibition was opened by Paula Hesmondhalgh from CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young), the charity we supported this year.
A big thank you to everyone who supported our Group and our chosen charity – we hope you enjoyed it. We are now planning for our next exhibition which will take place in April 2021. If you can’t wait that long, why not come along to one of our meetings as a guest (there’s a small charge) and if you like what you see, join us as a member. (Membership Request Form). You never know you could be on our exhibition planning team!

Donation to CRY
Paula and Barry Hesmondhalgh from Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) were presented with a cheque for £1100 by our Chairwoman Sunita Owen.
In August 2011 their son, Matthew Hesmondhalgh died aged just 22 – another Young Sudden Cardiac Death (YSCD). Paula and Barry decided they had to do something to understand better what had happened and try and prevent it happening to others. The money they have raised and continue to raise in Matthew's memory is used to benefit young people in Garstang and the surrounding area.

Dear Anna and all at Garstang Patchwork Quilters,
Firstly, we’d like to say thank you and congratulations to one and all for putting together a fabulously enjoyable exhibition. One of our supporters was so inspired she has now begun to make a lovely quilt from materials purchased at the show!
Congratulations too, to you Anna for winning the Visitors Choice award, your quilt was beautiful and so apt with the little hearts!
We cannot thank you all enough for your very generous donation of £1100 that we were presented with last night. This incredible amount will fund the screening of 22 young people and as we mentioned that's one for each year that Matthew lived. We know from past screening events, testing really does save lives.
On behalf of those who can be screened and all of us at Matt’s Fund – THANK YOU.
Our best wishes to you all.
Barry and Paula
